Movie Review: Elvira's Haunted Hills (2002)
Reviewed by Kenny Barnwell
Directed by Sam Irvin
Starring~ Casandra Peterson, Richard O'Brien, Mary Scheer
Plot ~ Elvira and her maid are traveling to Paris for a show. Unfortunately, along the way they get sidetracked in a creepy castle with mysterious characters, strange goingson and an old family curse to be unraveled. Nothing fancy or complicated about it, its a parody on the same theme as the 10,000 other haunted castle movies that came before it, but this one has the one thing the others don't, the legendary dick-tease Elvira and her iconic cleavage, which is served up to us buffet-style for the entirety of the film.

Movie Review: Filmgore (1983)
Directed by Ken DixonStarring Cassandra Peterson
Think back to the days of grainy film, from the mid 60's to the late 70's. Think back to the golden and formative age of gore-cinema, movies filled with voluptuous and untalented actresses who were more then willing to take one for the team, bare their breasts and be gleefully dismembered in front of the camera.

Although Filmgore's premise is to deliver the goriest movies of this time, what it actually does is give a pretty comprehensive cross-section of retro forbidden cinema. From the truly terrifying (but not necessarily gory) Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), to the true classic gore-fest's, including Bloodfeast (1963), The Driller Killer (1979), and the nightmarishly fun Two Thousand Maniacs (1964).

Movie Review: Elvira's Movie Macabre: Lady Frankenstein/Jesse James vs. Frankenstein and Scared to Death/Tormented
Horror hosts we're a big part of my earlier genre film experiences. Rich Koz's Son of Svengoolie show during my years growing up in Chicago was my first big exposure to schlock and even the occasional horror classic like Creature From the Black Lagoon. Outside of Svengoolie, there was Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) and her double D delights. I had no problem oggling Elvira during her cheezy bits during on her show Elvira's Movie Macabre. Apparently I wasn't the only one because Elvira became a hit and a pop-culture icon.
