I think I've found a film that would go beautifully as a double-bill with Ryan Nicholson's Hanger. This little bad boy’s called Zombie Babies. Abortion/ comedy epics are really at a minimum for the sickos that dig them so what a pleasant surprise to see Eamon Hardiman's highly offensive and surprisingly occasionally funny flick about aborted babies who come back to life to kill and feast on a group of dopes at an abortion clinic / hotel/casino. Yes, that's the plot. Ohh... the shit we get here for review... wow!

Movie Review: Famine (2012)
One of the more anticipated films for us here at Cinema Head Cheese is without a doubt Ryan Nicholson's Famine. Luckily enough, I've gotten a chance to see it before it hits home video and I must say the Canadian King of Splatter has done it yet again.
Every four years at Sloppy Secondary High School the kids hold a 24-hour famine to bring awareness to the millions starving children in various third-world countries around the globe. At the time of the last famine, Mr. Balszack was the victim of a horrible accident thanks to klutzy student trying to put the moves on him. Balszack is one of several possible suspects slaughtering the students during the fundraiser. Donning a mascot suit as "The Nailer" our maniac is on a mission to get things very messy at Sloppy Secondary.

Movie Review: Hanger (2009)
Buy Hanger
There once was a boy named Hanger (Nathan Dashwood), who was scraped out of a skank by a gangbanger. He said with a grin as he wiped off his chin....ok I'm done. It was actually a pimp named Leroy (Ronald Patrick Thompson) that performs this ghastly "quickie" abortion on Hanger's mom, Rose (Debbie Rochon). Ryan Nicholson's (Gutterballs, Live Feed, Torched), Hanger, the story of a survivor (similar to the dramas you might see on the Lifetime network starring Jennifer Love Hewitt). Few beings are capable of such a super-human feat, as a womb-scoop, but Hanger isn't your "average" guy. He has jagged razor-sharp choppers and enjoys tearing bad people to bits; biting plus-size ladies breasts off, crushing skulls and more with his lecherous, tampon-sniffing pal, Russell (Wade Gibb). Along with his dad, "The John" (Dan Ellis), Hanger sets out for revenge on Leroy and any degenerate that comes his way. To say that Hanger is disgusting would be an understatement. I think the best way to describe the plot in Hanger is that it's a vile and heinous freak show.

Movie Review: Hanger (2009)
Wow. There's a huge problem with independent horror, especially lately. Maybe Hostel is to blame for some of it. I don't know. Indies get a pass in a few areas, like film quality and soundtrack, but they also often think it's a good idea to ignore story, acting, directing and entertaining. It's becoming a competition to see who can be the most disgusting. Hanger suffers from this affliction.

I get trying to be funny. I get pushing limits. That's fine, but there's a point when it just gets stupid. That point happened about five minutes into the movie. I'll give you the basics. A guy with a rubber nose knocks up a hooker. Her pimp, who is played by a guy who obviously watched a few pimp movies and horribly emulates them, shoves a hanger into her and aborts her almost full term baby. The fetus grows up to be a horribly disfigured freak named Hanger and is led by his father, whose face gets more rubbery as the movie goes on, to try to kill the pimp.

Interview: Ryan Nicholson
By James DePaolo
1. What was your childhood like? Also, what kind of kid were you in school?
I moved around a lot when I was growing up...Canada to the USA and then back to Canada...horror was the one grounded thing in my life. No matter where I was, I had Michael Myers, Freddy and Jason. My best friends! I was pretty quiet in school. I would read Fango over and over in class and on breaks. Very few students shared my horror interest. In fact, only one guy in school was obsessed with horror like me and that was Grade 9, 10. I didn't like school. I thought it was a waste of time because I knew what I wanted to do when I was older and school didn't really factor in. But this was mid-80’s to early 90's. I would suggest to young film-makers today to finish school and get some post secondary film education. There wasn't that opportunity for me when I was younger.
