Scream XXX: A Porn Parody (Vivid, 2011)

Reviewed by Rick L. Blalock - November 5, 2015

Synopsis
Do not answer the phone, do not open the door, do not forget the lube. Making porn parodies can be MURDER

(Runtime - 2 hr. 6 mins.)
---------------------
Well, here's something a little different. As we all know, the Adult Industry now has an abundance of porn parodies. Granted there were a few here and there, which were sprinkled about in the '80s, but these days, porn has, just about parodied everything. From "I Love Lucy", to Batman, it's all been done, and at present, it continues. So imagine a porn parody, which parodies a popular film, while at the same time, parodies itself, and other films like it. That is exactly what you have here with the Axel Braun Production, SCREAM XXX: A PORN PARODY.

This film which was both written and directed by Eli Cross, centers around the on-goings of a porn set. Cross, whom plays himself in the film, leads a production for label Vibrant Video(get it? The film is/was initially distributed by Vivid Video). The production is a parody of the mainstream film franchise, STAB. Although popular, the STAB series was brought to a halt when the real life killer, in which the series was based, laid the waste the film's cast and crew alike. The town is still shaken by the event, however the show rolls on for porno. It has now been some time since the tragedy, and Eli Cross and company are now rolling on their porn parody. However, I guess it should be no shock when the porn production too, hits an all too familiar snag, when the film's starlet, Lily LaBeau is found dead after a day of shooting. A victim of 53 stab wounds. However, the death of one of the film's stars does little to deter Cross, who wishes to keep going. However, soon, the production of STAB XXX begins to quickly fall apart, not only due to on set turmoil between the cast and crew, but also because the killer, dubbed "Clownface"(The film uses the Ghostface mask from SCREAM, with a clown nose attached), how begun to pick off all who remain. As it would appear, the person who is under the guise of Clownface isn't exactly a fan of the so-called porn parody, and hopes to put an end to them, once and for all.

Synopsis

When a struggling TV reporter (Sarah Vandella) decides to switch places with a high-end escort (Skin Diamond), she never expected to enjoy it or that the escort would try to ruin her life!

(Runtime - 119 minutes)

----------------

In this porn parody from award winning Director, Will Ryder, LOVE, SEX & TV NEWS tells the story of News 10, a news station in California. News 10, used to be the number one station in the state, but in recent times, they have dropped down to the 3rd best news station. It just seems that all of the other stations have one up on them. At the center of it all, is a young newswoman, by the name of Maggie McCormick. Maggie, is someone who believes that she is the hardest working woman in news, and as proof of her dedication, she hasn't had sex for 14 months. She's just been too busy. So, with ratings declining, not only is she frustrated over the thriving of her competition, she is sexually frustrated as well. But that doesn't stop hard working Maggie from constantly trying to come up with stories that might improve the station, and hopefully bring it back to prominence. That is when she eventually comes up with her breakthrough story idea. Amid a prostitution scandal involving one of California's Mayors, Maggie comes up with the idea of doing a story, that is centered around the art of prostitution. And what better way to do it, than to go "deeply" undercover, while getting under the covers? Maggie does just that when she agrees to switch places with a high end escort named Hope, who herself, has aspirations to become a newscaster. Initially, the shy and timid Maggie, feels that she is doing it, simply for the good of the story(and the station), but after a while of assuming the role, she comes to realize that she is beginning to like it much more, as she continues to gather enough juicy "evidence", to ensure that her story is a hit. Thus saving her beloved station.

Movie Review: OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies (2006)

Swaggerdly suave, handsome & worldly...dashing, dapper and debonair...always dressed to kill, a picture of cool & crisp intrigue...fast, cars, fast money, fast wit...well-armed & well aimed...deftly skilled at hand-to-hand combat...a resourceful, finely-honed ability at surveillance, concealment & infiltration...the dogged bane of world-wide villainy...the most nefarious of men, want him dead...the most nefarious of women merely WANT him. THIS guy?? Uh, he's NOT James Bond, folks, and he most assuredly DOESN'T have a clue. He's agent OSS 117, Hubert Bonniseur de la Bath, though the name of the game remains the same...spies, naked thighs and bad guys, albeit in a much more comical meld, with this rollicking and hilarious send-up to classic '50's & '60's spy movies...the 2006 French comedy, "OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies"...a nostalgic precursor bit of cinema, from director Michael Hazanavicius, the Academy Award winning filmmaker of 2011's critically acclaimed and equally nostalgic jewel, "The Artist."

Movie Review: Supernatural Activity (2012)

I often enjoy a good parody film. I guess I should define good, because good parody is extremely hard to come by. To me, a good parody should stand on its own, even if you don't get all of the references to other movies. I want a solid story with fun nods to whatever it's knocking. Outside of the first Scary Movie, the "Movie" movies have been atrocious. There's a good amount of "we have to reference this thing in a ham-fisted way" in each of them. I hate chunks that don't fit, but are there just because. Supernatural Activity doesn't have much of that, but it also lacks in many other ways.

Book Review: Garbage Pail Kids (2012, Topps)

When I was a kid, there was a huge toy craze that I still don't understand. Before people trampled each other for a Tickle Me Elmo, parents clamored for Cabbage Patch Kids. They were extremely popular, and I never knew why. My mom bought one for each of us, and I don't remember any of us asking for one. I certainly never would have. I was always too busy with my Star Wars toys. One thing I did love as a kid, however, was parody. It started with "Weird" Al Yankovic and Saturday Night Live, and it continued with the arrival of Topps' Garbage Pail Kids. They took the kids from the cabbage patch and dropped them in a landfill. My friends and I were all extremely delighted.

Movie Review: The GingerDead Man 3: Saturday Night Cleaver (2011)

While I don't always go for cheesy horror, I do like intentionally cheesy horror. I especially like when it goes to extremes. The original GingerDead Man was a riot. The title character, voiced by Gary Busey, was created from dough that was made with cursed flour. He was absolutely ridiculous, full of crazy one-liners and killed without remorse. Just what you want in a deadly pastry. In this edition, sans Busey, we see the killer cookie in a brand new setting.

Movie Review: The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie! (2010)

Drawn Together was easily one of the most creative cartoon ideas on the air. It was parody at its finest. I was sad to see it go after only three seasons, and I had to revisit the series to remind myself just how disturbed it really was. If you don't remember, it was a parody of shows like Big Brother and The Real World in which iconic cartoon character types would live together and be constantly filmed. It was crass and vulgar and entertaining as hell. I was overjoyed when I saw that a movie was made.

After finishing off the last few episodes of the series, I started the movie. One thing I immediately noticed was a difference in the animation. It wasn't extremely different, but different enough to be a bit of a distraction for me. I'm sure people that had a gap of a few years between seeing the movie and the show wouldn't think much of it, but I did. It was especially noticeable with Princess Clara and Xandir. Thankfully the voice cast returned, and they were as good as always.

Movie Review: Stripperland! (2010)

I really don't think it matters where you are geographically - everybody has a strip club story. Whether you're the guy who hits Scabby's Caberet by the airport once every few months or the fool who drops hundreds weekly in Ginger and Destiny's g-string while getting ten minute lap dances. It all ends the same. Sure, you may get a snail-trail on each knee from the gals but what does that do for you in the grand scheme? Nada. You’re just lighter in the wallet and more than likely yanking your crank later to Red-Tube until you burst blood vessels in your melon. Either way, whether you’re stripper addict or a regular joe the "stripper" is a fascinating creature. Why not combine strippers with the undead? Sean Skelding felt it was prudent to do so by creating the trashy top-less flesh-eating terrors in Cheezy Flix's Stripperland! Does this not sound like a recipe for craptacularness? Let’s have look see!

Movie Review: Vampires Suck (2010)

by Heather Henshaw

I went in to this film thinking it was going to be good. I mean, a takeoff film of Twilight? What more could you ask for? Well, I failed to realize it's about TWILIGHT! How could I be so stupid to put myself through the anguish of watching this film?

Buy Vampires Suck on DVD

The plot is the same as Twilight; girl meets boys, girl torn between the two boys and so on. The names are changed. Bella is known as Becca, and the Cullens are changed to the Sullens. Not only do you get one Twilight movie spoof, but they take on all three of the Twilight films. I will say there are a few parts in this film that made me laugh, and when I say few I mean a few. There was a chihuahua pack instead of a werewolf pack, and to make it worse, they were gay guys singing "It's Raining Men." I did enjoy the part where Becca beats up her dad and maces him and the scene where the guy in the wheel chair gets the crap beat out of him, but I must say the best part of the whole film was (get ready for a big spoiler now) the credits. I was so happy once it ended. I had to watch this film in three parts just to get through it. Vampires Suck is from the guys who brought us Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Disaster Movie. Somehow they keep getting funds for these dreadful spoofs. PLEASE STOP ALREADY! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!

The Da Vinci Load (DVD, Hustler Video)

Yep, this shit is real. It seems like nowadays porn companies will parody anything. Edward Penishands, Lawrence of a Labia, Womb Raider, Little Shop of Whores are just a few elaborate titles the porn industry has churned out. The Da Vinci Load is another spoof given the XXX treatment. The title had me laughing pretty hard, but the plot synopsis made it even better; "Operative of the Priory of Semen discover that Leonardo Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa....using his own semen. These keepers of the truth fuck in the name of art and kill anyone who gets in their way". Invite your friends over and make sure alcohol is present for additional hilarity.
