Scream XXX: A Porn Parody (Vivid, 2011)

Reviewed by Rick L. Blalock - November 5, 2015

Synopsis
Do not answer the phone, do not open the door, do not forget the lube. Making porn parodies can be MURDER

(Runtime - 2 hr. 6 mins.)
---------------------
Well, here's something a little different. As we all know, the Adult Industry now has an abundance of porn parodies. Granted there were a few here and there, which were sprinkled about in the '80s, but these days, porn has, just about parodied everything. From "I Love Lucy", to Batman, it's all been done, and at present, it continues. So imagine a porn parody, which parodies a popular film, while at the same time, parodies itself, and other films like it. That is exactly what you have here with the Axel Braun Production, SCREAM XXX: A PORN PARODY.

This film which was both written and directed by Eli Cross, centers around the on-goings of a porn set. Cross, whom plays himself in the film, leads a production for label Vibrant Video(get it? The film is/was initially distributed by Vivid Video). The production is a parody of the mainstream film franchise, STAB. Although popular, the STAB series was brought to a halt when the real life killer, in which the series was based, laid the waste the film's cast and crew alike. The town is still shaken by the event, however the show rolls on for porno. It has now been some time since the tragedy, and Eli Cross and company are now rolling on their porn parody. However, I guess it should be no shock when the porn production too, hits an all too familiar snag, when the film's starlet, Lily LaBeau is found dead after a day of shooting. A victim of 53 stab wounds. However, the death of one of the film's stars does little to deter Cross, who wishes to keep going. However, soon, the production of STAB XXX begins to quickly fall apart, not only due to on set turmoil between the cast and crew, but also because the killer, dubbed "Clownface"(The film uses the Ghostface mask from SCREAM, with a clown nose attached), how begun to pick off all who remain. As it would appear, the person who is under the guise of Clownface isn't exactly a fan of the so-called porn parody, and hopes to put an end to them, once and for all.

Movie Review: Scream 4 (2011, Blu-ray)

I feel like I’ve been in a wayback machine. We all know the story, we all know the characters and we even know the gimmicks, but the nostalgia was well worth it. It could be due solely to the fact that the characters are my age and I identified with them in 1996 when the original came out and with each successive sequel, I aged the same way they did (quickly and gracefully… ahem). So, prepare yourselves for a glowing, gushing, fanboy review of Scream 4, complete with obligatory Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson butt kissing. Oh, and I still have a crush on Neve Campbell.

The Movie Burrito: Volume 6 - Schlock and Awe

In this edition of Cinema Head Cheese’s The Movie Burrito, we have four brand-new DVD releases from Cinema Epoch, SubRosa Cinema and Wild Eye Releasing/MVD Visual.

First up, schlock-master (and reality-TV star) Donald Farmer’s Scream Dream, starring the lovely Melissa Moore. The wicked lead-singer of a god awful heavy metal band possesses buxom beauty, Jamie Summers (Melissa Moore). There’s some blood, a couple pairs of enhanced teets but Scream Dream is truly a rough watch. It opens somewhat well with a topless minx getting chainsawed in her bed, but from there, it drops into a black-hole of ineptness .Don’t get me wrong, I live for movies like this, but Scream Dream is one of the poorest examples of “heavy metal horror”.Even eclipsing, Ferd and Beverly Sebastian’s, Rocktober Blood. The picture quality is also an area where this release fails - it looks like it was sourced from a 10th generation EP tape! Sound quality isn’t that much better, as it hums and buzzes like one of Grandma’s old vibrators. There is a great SubRosa trailer reel though!
