Eats & Drinks Review: Mountain Dew Game Fuel: Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

With the excitement over the newest Call of Duty release, one of the attached promotional items seems to have been swept under the rug. I'm not a big gamer, and the only live television I usually watch is football, so I also tend to miss out on commercials. I don't know if this was ever advertised, but I ran across two new Mountain Dew flavors created for MW3 fans. These aren't the first in the Game Fuel series. Mountain Dew created two flavors dedicated to World of Warcraft awhile back, and those were pretty good. With the addition of new flavors so frequently, it can be hard to keep track of the Mountain Dew line.

The MW3 flavors aren't far off from original Mountain Dew and Code Red. The green is Dew with a hint of tropical citrus. I thought it was very similar to original Dew, but it went down a little smoother. It didn't have the bubble sort of sting that regular Dew has. Other than that, I couldn't notice a huge flavor difference.

The red is the better flavor. It is Dew with a blast of citrus cherry. This might actually be the best Dew flavor I've ever had. It is extremely smooth. I rate it next to White Out in that area, except that White Out doesn't have the flavor that MW3 red has. It's like they took Code Red and improved it severely. By the time I finished it, I really wanted another.

I like the fact that Mountain Dew is constantly throwing new things at us. I'm a big beverage guy. I always have to have something to drink, so trying something new is always right up my alley. If you are a Dew fan, you'll love the new Game Fuel flavors. I definitely do.
