TV on DVD Review: Pawn Stars Vol. 4 (2012)

There’s no better example of today's pawnbrokers then the Harrison family’s Gold and Silver Pawn Shop located on the outskirts of Las Vegas - the modern day Mecca for people in need of quick cash. Three generations of Harrison men go into battle at the bargaining counter with a wide assortment of people looking to make big money off of their treasures. From classic cars, to samurai swords to old baseball cards. Here, everything has a history and everything has a price. And you never know whats going to come through the door next.

Pawn Stars Vol. 4 features 16 episodes never-before released on DVD, including a wide variety of oddball items that are haggled over like Colonel Sanders suit, a competition dragster race car and an Abraham Lincoln campaign ribbon.

TV on DVD Review: American Pickers Vol. 3 (2012)

HISTORY’s ratings record-breaker is finally back with an all-new installment! (and not a moment too soon in my opinion)

In small towns and along America’s back roads, treasures are waiting to be uncovered- valuable relics that are a part of this country’s history which are hidden in back yard junk piles, buried in hundred year old barns and stacked to the rafters in peoples garages. It takes experts to find them and turn rust into riches.

American Pickers follows two of the most skilled “pickers” on the planet- Mike Wolfe, the owner of Antique Archaeology, and his side-kick and business partner, Frank Fritz, as they hunt down objects with historical, collectable and pop culture value. Usually striking gold in the most unassuming of places.

Movie Review: Cave Of Forgotten Dreams 3D (2011, IFC Films)

It's documentary time here at the Cheese and today it's none other than legendary German director Werner Herzog's recent feature Cave Of Forgotten Dreams that's on the menu. Five years after the release of Herzog's critically acclaimed Grizzly Man, the filmmaker has taken the focus from exploring the life of bear-loving activist Timothy Treadwell to the exploration of the stunning Chauvet Caves of Southern France.

TV on DVD Review: Stan Lee's Superhumans: Season One (2010)

Superhumans is a reality show where hosts Stan Lee and Daniel Browning Smith travel the world in search of individuals with unique genetic deficiencies.

Is it just me, or does Stan Lee put his name on almost anything these days? When this originally aired on the History Channel, I will not lie to you, I never watched one episode. At this time, Stan Lee's name seemed to be on other shows that I was not a fan of. Boy, am I an idiot. This show is fun.

In this two disc set, you have eight episodes where people try to show you their talents and superhuman traits, as in one episode about a guy who could break cinder blocks with his head. Then, when they doubt that he is superhuman, they do an MRI to reveal his skull is thicker than the usual skull.
