TV on Blu-ray: The Walking Dead - Season Four (2013/2014, Blu-ray)

The Walking Dead is undeniably one of the most popular shows on all of television -- for good reason, of course. When Robert Kirkman unleashed The Walking Dead on the comic book world a few years back, possibly the last thing on his mind had to be that it would be one of the most popular shows (on American Movie Classics of all places). Well, it is even with some imperfections, this thrilling story of a group of survivors battling a zombie apocalypse has easily amassed a loyal fan-base and continued on to where it is now going into its 5th season of production.

After releasing the three previous seasons on Blu-ray and DVD Anchor Bay and AMC has now gone forth with season four with this packed, 16 episode, supplement filled Blu-ray set that should put zombie fans in a frenzy for what could very well be the best season of The Walking Dead to date.

Following a brutal showdown at the prison with the Governor (David Morrisey), Rick, Herschel and the crew lick their wounds and call it a minor victory over the now beaten down aggressor. The Governor retreats with what’s left of his gang of goons vowing revenge but it aint that easy because soon this once super intimidating villain becomes a weak, bearded hobo roaming the streets for shelter. He does find his way to a family who just sees a new kinder gentler Governor.

TV on Blu-ray Review: The Walking Dead - Season III (2012, 2013)

I've always really had a soft spot of for the zombie sub-genre but unfortunately over the past ten years we've seen an influx of zombie movies to the point where just can't appreciate the rotting creatures. It's been almost an epidemic of poor quality, horribly written garbage that's been an embarrassment to what George Romero essentially created 40 plus years-ago with 

Night of the Living Dead. Even Romero has himself sunk into the cesspool of bad zombie movie-making. Have you seen Diary of the Dead or Survival of the Dead?

I really thought there was no hope for the struggling genre, until of course I got to experience the visceral rollercoaster that is, Robert Kirkman's surprise hit of 2010, The Walking Dead. Now after a solid season two, Kirkman and his team have taken the show to some new equally terrifying places which can now be seen in the comfort of your own home thanks to the folks at Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) was a big cog in The Walking Dead, unfortunately (to many fans, including this one) he was replaced in the director’s chair. Did it help or hurt the fine series? You can now see whether it did or not as it’s being released on to Blu-ray and DVD by Anchor Bay and AMC.

TV on DVD Review: Breaking Bad: The Complete Second Season (2009)

I don't know if I could love a show more. The first season was great, but it keeps getting better. The second season of the show about a high school teacher turned meth dealer adds so much to its story. Walter White is really getting out of control. I know you thought he was already screwed up, but he makes things worse at every turn.

Walt and Jesse take major steps in this season. They get involved with big bad distributors, and that isn't ever good.Meanwhile, Walt's brother-in-law, DEA Agent Hank is dealing with his own issues, and he's getting seemingly closer to Walt's operation. Now we add Bob Odenkirk to the mix as the kind of lawyer you see in TV commercials. He starts out looking silly, but he takes one hell of a dark turn.

You know, I'm pretty sure every guy has an outlaw fantasy. I know I do. Hell, I have several. I often wonder what it would be like to rob a bank, or pull off some great insane heist, Ocean's Eleven style. I've even wondered what kind of crazy life I'd have if I was a powerful drug lord. Knowing the consequences, I'd never get into a crazy situation like that. Let's face it. I'm pretty enough to get passed around a prison laundry room like a wet fifi, and I'm not big enough to effective fight off thirty guys with erections. That's enough to keep me from a life of crime. That's exactly why I'm thankful for Breaking Bad.

Originally broadcasted on AMC - of all channels - Anchor Bay has put together a two-disc Blu-ray set of this amazing epic horror series that's sure to please anyone who followed the show when it was on TV. Based on Robert Kirkman's popular comic of the same name, The Walking Dead stays fairly close to Romero's films.: Get bitten , you turn into a zombie and to kill them they need a good blast to the cabesa. The Walking Dead as a whole is almost what the mediocre Land of the Dead could have been. Much of it, like "Land" takes place in the city , though unlike that film there are just a handful of survivors trying to avoid being torn to pieces by zombies.
