Sleeper Hold!! Available from Splatter Theatre Press!

Professional wrestling can be dangerous. Broken bones, crushed dreams... murder. Twenty years ago, acclaimed writer, David Hayes, told author Jeff Dolniak about a project former professional wrestler Joe Broni wanted to do. This was his story of love, betrayal, and murder. It tells the sordid tale of how an independent wrestling promotion was menaced by a black-gloved killer, hellbent on destroying everyone... except for the popular Tanya the Tyrant. What connected her to the deranged fiend? Find out here, in Sleeper Hold! From the author: "Joe invited me out to his favorite greasy spoon for lunch. I paid. It was ok because it was Joe. We chatted for hours on how we would attack the project. It was surreal. I loved watching Joe as a kid. He lost every match but he still left an indelible mark on young Jeff. As time went on, I found out things about Joe. Things about the business that would forever change how I thought about the circus surrounding the squared circle. Horrors. A darkness that went beyond the sweaty athletes in spandex. Splatter Theatre Press has been brave enough to distribute this book." Featuring contributions by Paul Counelis , Kurt Belcher, Caleb Thusat, and Dalyn Viker. Buy your copy now! https://splattertheatre.com/products/sleeper-hold

Doing the JOB... with Joe Broni: Navajo Warrior

by Joe Broni

There are a million choices out there in any walk of life. What should I watch on TV? Do I really have to move out of my parent’s basement? Who do I go to prom with, now that I’m over thirty? These are just a few questions you could ask yourself everyday. Since being Joe Broni means that nothing cool, ever, happens to you either inside or outside of the squared circle, I’ve decided to chat about one of those people that are not quite like me. Sometimes, in my line of work, you run into a unique individual or two. I may be the worst professional wrestler alive, but I've had a chance to talk to some of the best. Once in awhile, my friends over here at the Cinema Head Cheese are going to let me spotlight some of those unique warriors of the squared circle that you've never heard of, but wish you had. Let me introduce you, fine reader, to The Navajo Warrior.

Buy a Warrior - Navajo Kachina, it's got nothing to do with The Navajo Warrior, but we need the dough.

Doing the JOB... with Joe Broni: Des Moines, IA

by Joe Broni

Hello wrestling fans! Joe Broni here with my inaugural Cinema Head Cheese column. Being on the road is rough. As I travel up and down, around and across this great country of ours (and sometimes Canada, a great country that is almost ours) the professional wrestler can encounter any number of weird promoters, fans and fellow workers. Even though my win/loss record isn't stellar (currently 0-142), it seems there is no end of colorful road stories that you fans are drooling over. For example:
